YLDP (Youth Leadership Development Project) During the school year, we have a cohort of 20 to 25 kids who participate in an intensive leadership development program, YLDP. The concept is to identify urban youth with leadership potential. These are young men and women who possibly would ordinarily have been caught in the cycle of dysfunction which captures many of the youth in the Inner City. During the school year, we interact with each student’s counselor surrounding academic issues. This program allows for intensive one-on-one interaction surrounding these issues, which may arise in or out of school. During the summer, we continue our program of community service as well as structured trips that are not only developmental, but fun!
